Plans for a major regeneration scheme in Crawley town centre have been revised for the Crawley Station and Overline House due to site constraints. The Station Gateway scheme, which includes the redevelopment of Crawley Station and Overline House, received outline planning permission inAugust 2016.
Since then, Arora Group in partnership with Network Rail, Crawley Borough Council, West Sussex County Council and the station operators(Govia Thameslink Railway) have been working together on a development constraint that has meant the need to re-assess the multi-storey car park. Network Rail needs to be able to access the track to bring in and lay replacement rails. Unfortunately, the special vehicles needed for this activity are too large to be compatible with the erection of a multi-storey car park.
