The European budget hotel chain has agreed a long-term lease for Arora Park Hotel, which was originally built for British Airways crew before being converted to a hotel for the general public.
Sanjay Arora, chief operating officer and head of property at Arora Group, said: “The building, facilities and its proximity to Heathrow airport, lends itself as an ideal economy hotel and we are confident that B&B Hotels will do a fantastic job in repositioning the property as one of the best value for money accommodation offerings in Heathrow.”
The news comes after B&B Hotels announced plans to break into the UK market in late 2022, setting a target to open 100 hotels by 2035. Since being acquired by Goldman Sachs in 2019, the company has been on the expansion trail.
Fabrice Collet, president and chief executive of B&B Hotels, said: “Our successful growth model and commitment to value for our guests have made us a beloved brand across Europe, and we’re excited to bring that same experience to guests in the UK. We are accelerating our development in all the countries we are already in while continuing to establish ourselves in new markets.”
Speaking about the company’s UK growth plans specifically, Patrick O’Connell, chief executive of B&B Hotels UK, said: “Looking ahead, the B&B Hotels UK team remains committed to forging partnerships with existing hotel owners, developers, landowners, funds, and real estate owners to realise its expansion plans.”
