London, 24th September 2025 – Arora Group is pleased to confirm the appointment of David Bywater as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective on 1 October, following his retirement as a partner after a 27 year career at KPMG.
During his 27 years at KPMG, including the last 14 as a partner, David held a variety of roles within KPMG’s Tax and Law business, including being the London Region Head of Tax and also leading the regional corporate tax business across the UK.
Looking back on his KPMG career, David said: “I retire from the KPMG partnership with a mix of emotions. KPMG is an excellent organisation where I have thoroughly enjoyed my career as a tax professional and partner in the firm, where I have had the pleasure of working with some fabulous clients and wonderful, and very talented, colleagues.
Whilst with a tinge of sadness I leave my colleagues, and many friends, behind, I look forward with a huge amount of excitement to my new career as the CFO of Arora Group. After working alongside Surinder, Carlton and the wider Arora team for the last 18 years as an advisor, I feel truly honoured that Surinder has the faith in me to join the business as CFO for the next exciting phase of growth. I am also delighted that I will be able to continue working alongside Carlton as he transitions from the Group CFO role full time into his new role for the group as CEO of Heathrow West.”
“We are thrilled to welcome such a seasoned professional into our executive team”, said Surinder Arora, Chairman and CEO of The Arora Group. “David’s deep understanding of financial strategy, and proven ability to drive organisational transformation will be invaluable as we embark on our next phase of growth. This is especially the case as we integrate our exciting new investments of BLOC Hotels, the 102 Petty France property in St James, and the Novotel West London, into the Group.”
As CFO, David’s mandate will encompass not only stewardship of the organisation’s financial health, but also strategic partnership with the Group’s leadership and external stakeholders to accelerate innovation, enhance operational excellence, and maximise value for all stakeholders. The Arora Group’s Board of Directors cited the new CFO’s exemplary record of performance, collaborative leadership style, and passion for sustainable development as some of the qualities aligning perfectly with the Group’s core values.
