Arora Group Break Ground on Multi-million-pound Redevelopment of Historic Luton Hoo

LUTON, UK – 9 October 2025 – The Arora Group today officially marked the commencement of the multi-million-pound redevelopment of the iconic Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa with a high-profile groundbreaking ceremony on the historic 1,100-acre estate.

The momentous event was attended by Mr. Surinder Arora, Founder and Chairman of the Arora Group, and Mr. Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Accor, underscoring the strategic partnership that will transform the property into one of the UK’s most distinguished luxury hotels.

Upon completion, the estate will relaunch under the prestigious Fairmont Hotels & Resorts brand, joining a collection that includes The Savoy in London and the Arora-owned Fairmont Windsor Park.

Vision for a World-Class Sporting and Hospitality Destination

The extensive redevelopment plans are designed to elevate every aspect of the historic property, which famously hosted Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip on part of their honeymoon. The comprehensive project will marry the estate's rich history with unparalleled modern luxury and ambitious sporting, wellness and meeting facilities.

Key elements of the project include:

  • Brand Transformation: The property will undergo a complete luxury overhaul before re-opening under the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts flag, bringing the hotel to new levels of luxury unparalleled in the region.
  • Interior Design Excellence: The transformation of the interiors will be led by the award-winning Kim Partridge Interiors, known for their bespoke, world-class design in luxury hospitality, ensuring the preservation of the estate’s heritage while delivering a contemporary vision of comfort and elegance.
  • Championship Golf Course: The Arora Group has engaged golf legends Gary Player and Justin Rose to design and build a new, challenging 18-hole course. This collaboration is central to the estate’s bid to host the prestigious Ryder Cup in 2035.
  • Enhanced Facilities: Comprehensive upgrades will be made across the entire estate, including a full makeover of the world-class spa and wellness centre, the construction of a new clubhouse and a world class meeting and events facility.

Surinder Arora, Founder and Chairman of the Arora Group, commented: "Luton Hoo’s heritage is exceptional, and we are incredibly proud to commence the redevelopment that will bring this stunning estate back to its full glory and potential.
